Using Email
Corresponding by email is popular and very desirable. Email has the distinct advantage of being more expedient especially if your lady is able to directly receive and reply to your transmissions from her home or work. If your email letters are being sent through an intermediary such as a marriage agency or internet café then your lady will not get your messages until she physically goes to retrieve them which may not be every day. You may be used to and expect quick replies in your email exchanges with friends and business associates. Don’t apply this same expectation to your Russian lady even if you are transmitting by email. It takes time to retrieve your message, translate it if necessary, compose a reply and then send it to you. It is possible that she may not have a lot of time to apply towards writing letters if she busy with working and caring for any children. If you are starting a new correspondence you will need to apply patience as you learn how quickly she can reply to you. Keep in mind that you may not be the only man she is corresponding with (just as she may not be the only lady you are corresponding with).
Email Tips · Include a picture or two with each of your email transmissions if it is possible for her to receive them. Certainly you will want to send a good portrait of yourself with your first letter but after that you should check with her and ask if she has any restrictions on the size and quantity of email attachments she can receive. Keep in mind that if she has direct email access it may be limited to dial up access which she pays for by the hour so large downloads may be costly to her. · If you don’t already have one, consider purchasing a digital camera so that you can take and send pictures quickly and easily. An inexpensive camera will be sufficient for the task or you can use a flat bed scanner. · If she has access to a personal computer you can send her a floppy disk or CD disk of several pictures you have taken for her. · If you are only sending electronic pictures she may not be able to share them with her friends and family. If you are important to her she will want to talk about you and show off your pictures. Make it easy for her to do this by mailing her some selected printed pictures as well. · If you have an ongoing correspondence with email, don’t overlook the opportunity to send some greeting cards and love notes through postal mail. Having a letter or message written by your hand will seem much more personal than text that is typed through the computer. Be sure to use neat and easy to read handwriting. If necessary you can include a typed translation of your written message.
