Scams are a common concern for men seeking a sincere relationship with a Russian woman. The percentage of all the advertised Russian women that are actually dishonest is quite miniscule so don’t let this overly hyped issue dissuade you from your quest. If you properly educate yourself on how to identify the sharks in the sea you will find it safe to go swimming. Although you may never cross paths with a scammer it is best to be on guard just in case. The best tool you can use to protect yourself from a scammer is the solid advice of ‘never send money to someone you never met’. It can be shocking to read the hard luck stories of those that were deceived and ‘milked’ for their money. All too often these victims were ignorant of, or blatantly ignored, the ‘Red Flags’ that should have warned them of the deception. Scammers are groups or individuals that promote themselves as a single Russian woman interested in marriage to a Western man. In reality these groups or individuals are only interested in your money. Scammers can be women or even men of any nationality posing as a Russian woman seeking a relationship with a man. The deceptions appear to be quite convincing as several men report to have been taken for hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Proper education on the subject will protect you from becoming a similar victim. Aside from individual scammers there are even some agencies that operate with deceptive and sometimes fraudulent intentions in order to separate you from your money. The same advice about not sending money to agencies can protect you from such thieves but there are many legitimate agencies that do need payment for their services so it would shortsighted to say you should never send money to any agency. You will need to educate yourself on how to identify a dishonest agency from an honest one. If you have limited experience dealing with Russian marriage agencies then you will need to learn what is reasonable verses what is excessive and probably an attempt to cheat you out of your money. As a preventive measure it is prudent to avoid discussing or displaying your wealth in your correspondence. Even a Western man’s average income will appear lavish in comparison to the average incomes in Russia and Ukraine. There is no need for you to mention or brag about your salary, savings or material acquisitions. Remember you can’t buy true love and any attempt to impress her with your financial abilities will only serve to attract the wrong kind of lady into your life. Keep it simple and just convey that you have a stable job and can provide for yourself, a wife and a future family. You can also protect yourself from emotional entrapment with a scammer if you establish a correspondence with more than one lady. This will serve to provide you with options if one turns out to be dishonest or disinterested in you. Having correspondence with other ladies will also serve to provide you with a contrast of character between a sincere lady and scammer if you happen to meet one.
